Women gained the right to vote and the American women now felt liberated. This led to a desire of them wanting to create their own culture which embraced their new values. The women wanted to have fun and enjoy their life to fullest. Already in the first years of the 1920's their culture was in full motion. The so called "Jazz age" had begun.
Women would try to look younger by picking clothes that wouldn't enhance their curves - the ideal body at the time was flatchested, a downplayed waist and a boyish figure. |
